NUCLEAR AMBITION: Iran and Russia have both given assurances over the safety of the Bushehr reactor. (Getty Images)Kuwait’s deputy premier and foreign minister stepped into the debate about Iran’s first nuclear power plant on Tuesday raising concerns about its safety.
Sheikh Dr Mohammad Sabah Al-Sabah said he was worried about the Bushehr reactor’s location being so close to Kuwait, according to the news agency KUNA.
His comments reiterate those of foreign ministry undersecretary Khaled Al-Jarallah who said earlier this week that fears existed over possible “leaks due to natural causes,” he was quoted as saying by KUNA.
