Japan battles to stop nuclear catastrophe

Prime minister Naoto Kan said Japan faced its “worst crisis” since the second world war as the nation grapples with the aftermath of Friday’s earthquake and tsunami and the increasingly serious situation at two nuclear reactors.

U.S. To Dominate All Europe, Mediterranean Through NATO

On February 24 a majority in the Cyprus parliament voted for the country to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's Partnership for Peace program, a transitional mechanism employed to bring twelve Eastern European nations into the U.S.-dominated military bloc from 1999-2009: The Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania and Croatia. FYROM(Macedonia) would have become a full member of the Alliance in 2009 along with the last two except for the lingering name dispute with Greece.

Υπό την προστασία της θέτει η Βουλή 29 ακόμα ανήλικα παιδιά στρατιωτικών που έπεσαν στο καθήκον από το 1996 μέχρι πρόσφατα και δεν έχουν ήδη ενταχθεί σε αντίστοιχη πρωτοβουλία της Βουλής ως σήμερα.

Νέα, επερχόμενη συμφωνία Ρουμανίας - ΔΝΤ

Ο πρόεδρος της Ρουμανίας, Τράιαν Μπασέσκου, ανήγγειλε σήμερα, μιλώντας στην κοινή συνεδρίαση της Άνω και της Κάτω Βουλής ότι, «μία νέα συμφωνία του ΔΝΤ με την χώρα του θα λάβει χώρα μέσα στο 2011, αντικαθιστώντας την ισχύουσα, που λήγει στο μεταξύ χρονικό διάστημα».

The number of people living in poverty in America rose to 43.6 million in 2009, the US Census Bureau reported Thursday. This is the largest number since the agency began making such estimates 50 years ago and represents an increase of 3.8 million compared to 2008.


As of last year, one in every seven Americans was poor, according to the government’s definition of poverty. The official poverty rate of 14.3 percent is the highest since 1994.

Although several articles on this subject were published before and after September 1st, 2010, on that day the Mexican daily La Jornada published one of great impact entitled El holocausto gitano: ayer y hoy (The gypsies' holocaust: yesterday and today) which reminds us of a truly tragic history.
